We understand the importance of holding current first aid and CPR skills & knowledge and have designed our course to be interactive and informative, delivered by first aid experts.
Weather you need to up-date your first aid skills and knowledge, obtain refresher accreditation or if you are undertaking this course for work, we have you covered!
All courses are delivered with strict infection control practices.

Course Content
Responding to emergencies
Basic life support, CPR procedures and AED (automated external defibrillator)
Applying appropriate first aid procedures
Bleeding and wound care, burns and scalds
Poisons and toxic substances, bites and stings
Shock management and musculoskeletal injuries
Dealing with emergency services and reviewing first aid response

There are no formal entry requirements for students looking to enrol in this course

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT):
All prospective students enrolling in the course are entitled to apply for RPL or CT. For additional information, please refer to our policies available on our website.
Entry Requirements:
MA Training Academy requires learners to have language, literacy and numeracy skills to an ACSF level 2. If you require further information on this please contact us.
Course Delivery:
This course is delivered face-to-face over 1-day, it is easy to follow, interactive and engaging. You will learn from industry experts who will support you and you will have great hands-on experience to practice first aid and CPR during training.
Assessment
Assessment will be through demonstration of knowledge through questions and answers and demonstration of skills and knowledge of first aid and CPR.
Assessment requires students to demonstrate the ability to correctly perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor. If you have a limitation that would affect your ability to complete the course, please call us to discuss prior to booking.

How long does a First Aid Certificate last?
A first aid certificate in Australia does not expire however for work related purposes, Safe Work Australia recommends renewing first aid certificates every 3 years and CPR certificates every 12 months. It is also recommended to check your work policies and procedures as they may differ.
Are there age requirements for this course?
Children 15 year and older can attend our courses, please check out our student handbook for details on our specific student age entry requirements.
Can I give first aid if I’m not trained?
In an emergency situation, you should render assistance whilst adhering to what you have been trained. If you are not trained in First Aid, then you can always call Triple Zero (000) and they will guide you through what steps to take.
