How often should I get CPR and first aid refreshed?
The Victoria Compliance Code outlines that as a minimum employers must ensure that first aid officers hold nationally recognised accredited statements of attainment issued by an RTO and that employers must ensure that the qualifications of first aid officers are current and updated regularly. Training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) should be carried out annually and first aid qualifications should be renewed every three years.
Are there age requirements for this course?
Children 15 year and older can attend our courses, please check out our student handbook for details on our specific student age entry requirements.
Can I give first aid if I’m not trained?
In an emergency situation, you should render assistance whilst adhering to what you have been trained. If you are not trained in First Aid, then you can always call Triple Zero (000) and they will guide you through what steps to take.
Where can I get guidance for first aid and CPR in my workplace?
The First Aid in the Workplace Compliance Code 2021 provides practical guidance to employers to ensure they comply with their duty to provide a safe workplace.
This code provides guidance on how many workers should be trained in your business, how many first aid kits are required, signage requirements and if your business needs a first aid room.
